For the ultimate Ajax atmosphere, try to get tickets in the F-Side (south stand), which is where the most passionate supporters gather. However, be aware that this area is standing-only and can be very intense. For a more balanced experience with great atmosphere but more comfort, sections 410-416 offer an excellent view of both the match and the F-Side's impressive displays. Arriving 90 minutes before kickoff allows you to witness the pre-match rituals and singing that build the famous Ajax atmosphere.

King's Day (April 27) is Amsterdam's biggest street party, with the city turning orange in celebration. If you're lucky enough to visit when Ajax plays around this date, you'll experience the city at its most festive. The club sometimes schedules special events or wears commemorative kits for matches near King's Day. Plan to arrive at least two days before the festival if your match coincides, as accommodation fills up extremely quickly. Many Ajax supporters gather in areas like Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein during King's Day, creating a fantastic football-meets-festival atmosphere.

While De Toekomst (The Future) – Ajax's famous youth academy and training complex – isn't regularly open to the public, there are opportunities to visit. Ajax occasionally organizes open training sessions, particularly during school holidays. Additionally, Ajax reserves (Jong Ajax) play their home matches at De Toekomst, and these games are much easier to get tickets for than first-team matches. Attending a Jong Ajax game offers a unique opportunity to see the training complex and potentially spot future stars before they break into the first team. De Klassieker between Ajax and Feyenoord is the most fiercely contested match in Dutch football, representing the rivalry between Amsterdam and Rotterdam. These matches feature exceptional atmosphere but also heightened security. Away fans are often banned due to historical incidents. Getting tickets for this fixture is extremely difficult – they typically sell out as soon as they're available to club members. Your best chance is through package deals from authorized sellers, which are secured well in advance. If you do attend, arrive early and be aware that alcohol restrictions are often in place for these high-risk matches.

The Johan Cruyff Arena is excellently connected to central Amsterdam, especially on match days. Metro line 54 from Central Station takes you directly to Amsterdam Bijlmer Arena station in about 15 minutes. On match days, extra metro services are often added. Alternatively, direct trains run from Central Station to Bijlmer Arena station. A special Match Day transport ticket is available that includes return travel and is slightly cheaper than buying separate tickets. After the match, be prepared for crowds at the station – sometimes it's worth enjoying a post-match drink at one of the arena's surrounding bars while waiting for the rush to subside.
